I’ve had our Moccamaster coffee maker for long enough to tell you that the quality of the cup that it produces is excellent. No question. That combined with the convenience of not doing two pour-overs for me and my wife every morning is a big time saver. My biggest issue is plastic parts in hot coffee and it may be enough for me to get rid of it or figure out a solution.
Had a father/daughter date night tonight. We had soba (and other Japanese dishes) and then went to see The Fantastic Four movie, which I thought was pretty good! We both enjoyed it. It was nice to see a movie with some hope.

In the process of thinking how to build arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail to the Thief theatre production I asked to hear some archive live recordings of the songs.
I was shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played and it really helped me find a way forward. For us, back in the day, the finishing of this record was particularly messy and fraught, we were very proud of it but there was a taste left in our mouths, it was a dark time in so many ways…
Anyway we decided to get these live recordings mixed (it would have been insane to keep them for ourselves) by Ben Baptie, who did an amazing job.
It has all been a very cathartic process, we very much hope you enjoy them.

I also ordered the blue vinyl. I do hope Radiohead releases a lot more live material. I’ve seen the band live more times than I’ve seen any other band by a long shot. Every single time is stunning. They are certainly one of the best live bands ever and if you know anything about there music, you’ll know that being able to pull it off live is a testament to their mastery.
The kids wanted to visit Dooley Creek Farm again, so we made some last-minute plans before we start the drive back to the big city. Last time we visited was in 2023. The kids enjoyed hanging with all the animals and learning more about regenerative farming.

Saw that coming and won’t be buying. Why would I if I already have Perplexity Pro? I guess I’ll have to give it another try, but didn’t love it when I first tried it. I also pay for ChatGPT and assume they will also have a browser soon. I wish they would have just continued iterating on Arc.
We went to the Aspen Institute for date night and saw Dr. Richard Haass, author of “The Bill of Obligations: The Ten Habits of Good Citizens,” in conversation with Wendell L. Willkie II, adjunct professor of law at NYU and adjunct fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. Also saw the dome.
Dense Discovery always has a link or two to something I hadn’t discovered yet and it’s generally a great newsletter. I’m certain I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s one of the few newsletters that I always read. Anyway, how have I never come across Kompressor?? More software like this, please!
I enjoy Naz Hamid’s blog. He had a post about Apple today, specifically about Apple’s new interface choices related iOS 26 (Spoiler: He doesn’t like it), but what caught my eye was the Apple ad, which I don’t recall ever seeing. However, I do remember the other add with the pair.
