On this day in 1988, R.E.M. released its sixth album, ‘Green.’ The band’s first for a major label, it featured the singles ‘Orange Crush,’ ‘Stand,’ ‘Pop Song 89’ and ‘Get Up.’
I still think of this as “the new REM album.”
