I can’t handle this. It’s just too much. How is this even allowed to happen in our country. It’s unbearable, and I’m just READING about it. Those kids. KIDS!
I largely avoid news. I read long-form analysis mostly. Reading about the barbaric separation of immigrant families, specifically taking kids away from their parents and putting them in what amounts to jails is abhorrent. I feel powerless and heartbroken. There are some things you can do though.
Amazon, Microsoft, and Uber are paying big money to kill a California privacy initiative.
Actions speak louder than words. Also, I noticed one big tech company absent from the list.
Looks like things are still messed up with the import from the old Wordpress site. Working with the fine people at Wordpress.com to get everything straightened out. Hopefully this will all be over soon and I’ll be back to normal.

I just moved my blog from self-hosted Wordpress to hosted Wordpress.com. I’m just tired of managing my own hosting stuff. It’s just not something I want to spend any time on anymore.
Suicide is on the rise in America. When I was young a neighborhood boy that we all knew hung himself. My dad sprinted to their house and tried to revive him. Two of my best childhood friends took their own life in their 20s and a close cousin killed himself by setting himself on fire. Depression and mental illness are all around us and many of us have loved ones that are struggling. It’s important we learn how to properly care for them and for ourselves as we do so.
