I think it's cool that the Polestar 4 doesn't have a rear window. I never really look out of my rear window because my rearview mirror is a video feed (just like the Polestar 4) and when I'm backing up, I use the camera views on my dash. The future is cool.
If you are in Los Angeles, I highly recommend seeing the Basquiat exhibit. It was awesome. Even the kids loved it. So well-done! Bonus: The Broad is right across the street, so you can go there after.
Very cool to see Ben Cox created a userspace USB driver for the Logitech QuickCam Express. Takes me back to the CU-SeeMe (and iVisit) days. Connectix built the OG QuickCam. I had one connected to my PowerMac 9500 in Lawrence, Kansas, while attending the University of Kansas. Oddly, Lawrence was one of the first test markets for broadband cable modem access. I might even still have the QuickCam somewhere.
Really lookin forward to reading this over and over.
@help been trying to log in for the last hour and am not receiving the verification email. Tried web, tried iOS app. Checked Spam folder and Trash. Nothing.
Finally got around to listening to the This American Life episode with @caseynewton and thought it was great. Really interesting to hear directly from @yoyoel on the chaos. Caring so much and being so principled can definitely be a blessing and curse.
Of course our washing machine broke and the control board is no longer being made so we have to buy a new washer. Such a waste. Everything else works or can be repaired except for the brains.
Sure, you can read about it https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/schmidt-pain-index-sting-bees-insects
Or you can just watch Coyote Peterson https://www.youtube.com/@BraveWilderness
For those following along, the dog was found by a farmer, who contacted my friend. What a rollercoaster! Some asshole said he found the dog, but that the owner needed to confirm a Google code. Unbelievable.
Anyone have a Bluesky invite for me?
